Became Volunteers ( Activities in Japan )

... Became Volunteers ...

We  have got a great chance to go to Japan by Japanese government  that wanted  Thai teenagers who were eager to know what happened after the earthquake situation and wanted to learn how Japan solved the problems of  Japanese people  who  live in affected  areas.  Kizuna (Bond)  project was the project that took us to learn the problems in Ten-ei, Fukushima province after the earthquake situation and the nuclear power plant “Fukushima Dia Ichi” had occurred.

We became the participants to learn these issues, joined the activities , encouraged some of  homeless people in Ten-ei and we would  help them tell  the present situation  in  Fukushima to our families , friends  and publicize on internet . For example, websites or online medias.
In  Ten-ei district , rice is the most important product that continuously got the gold medal for the most delicious Japanese rice  and the best seller too. But after the earthquake, the radioactivity  leaked  from  the nuclear power plant “Fukushima Dia Ichi”, Ten-ei district  and the areas around the nuclear power plant  were affected. Radioactivity made Ten-ei’s agricultural products damaged. When the government had tested and discovered radioactivity in them. Ten-ei’s contamination products were rumored . People scared to buy them, then Ten-ei products’ circulation gradually decreased. Nowadays, many people still doubt in Ten-ei products’ quality.

Although at the present, Ten-ei products and rice’s quality has been restored to be uncontaminated and has been guaranteed by the scientific tests. So we would like  to confirm  and help them promote these products by starting  from rice  in order  to call  the reliability  to increase rice’s circulation in the markets.

The very interesting activity was rice bag designing. We could present our ideas on the papers. Then, in each group, we voted to choose the best one rice bag for the presentation. Each group had the different ideas. But all of them were creative and interesting. One of our bags was about Japanese child mascot who was eating Ten-ei rice and thumbed up to show that Ten-ei rice’s so delicious. Another was about smiling Ten-ei rice mascot which told us that Ten-ei rice has still been the first forever.
And the other group mentioned a type of plastic bags for packing rice that can keep rice from moistness and it is degradable when it is buried.

This activity  was one of provided activities that we, the participants from Thailand, joined to share ideas for encouragement the sufferers in Ten-ei sub district. We got many fantastic experiences and learned how to cope with the troubles that happened after the earthquake situation and we also could help to solve bad rumors by public relations. We expect that everyone who knows this fact will inform the others to make right understanding.

If you have your free time to travel, Japan is one of

countries that is so beautiful and safe. Don’t be overthink.

There, there are many things that you can’t find in the books

and you need to see by your own eyes. :))
